For anyone who served in the Israeli Defense Forces the term "Zuz" is well known. It means "Move". As in - here is the assignment, you have 7 minutes to complete it, Zuz!
And you move!
There is no time to think, to analyze, to debate, to question. You just move. And so it is in life.
We think too much sometimes. We over analyze and we paralyze ourselves. Of course we need to think about our actions, of course we do need to analyze. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. We must be cautious.
But some of us are too cautious. We look at our options and we think, and think, and double think. And then it is too late, the opportunity has gone. And then we wonder why we do not get any breaks in life. Sometimes the breaks come but we are too busy thinking. Sometimes we just need to act, to hear our commander shout Zuz! and just go.
We must not let opportunities slip away.
Back in the IDF, a few years back...
So when we get stuck in a rut, we must remember Zuz! Move, get out of where you are, do something, anything!
In self-defense the worst thing you can do is to do nothing. At a certain point, after quickly taking in all available facts, you make a decision and you act. Zuz!
