rocky mountain high and low

The beauty of nature, undisturbed by man. 

Flying from Denver, Colorado, usually I have an aisle seat, I need my freedom, but today I had a first class seat, both aisle and window, so I had a rare view into the incredible sceneries of God's good earth. As we flew west I saw how slowly the number of buildings, houses, cars and people diminished until we were in God's country, undisturbed by man. I saw the beauty that inspires songs and I thought of John Denver's Rocky Mountain High, and I also thought of the lows. 

Gradually we flew away from "Civilization" to the pristine land uncorrupted by mankind. As John Denver writes..

while they try to tear down mountains to bring in a couple more, More people, more scars upon the land. 

Yes, indeed he was correct, man brings many scars upon the land, but not only physical. As it was written so long ago in the Biblical times...."Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight, and the earth was filled with Violence. And God saw that earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. And God said to Noah, I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy the earth." (Genesis, Chapter 6, verse 11 - 13)

Our Krav Maga exists only because man has corrupted his ways, because man is not fit to live in decent society, because man preys upon his fellow man. That is why we train in self-defense. We have taken the beauty of nature, and of life, and we have corrupted it. Perhaps it is time for another flood, to cleanse the earth of all this filth, corruption and crime. But we did get a warning, we had the Covid epidemic. Many wrote how this was a wake up call, how man would change his ways. I wrote otherwise. I wrote that as soon as things returned to normal man would return to his evil ways, he will pollute the earth and sky, he will return to kill his fellow man without mercy.

I have worked hard to sit where I am sitting, and I am enjoying my coffee and the view. Gratitude comes over me. The beauty of life. I am feeling Rocky Mountain High but, there is also a low.

We had a wonderful seminar. It is truly great to be back in Colorado Springs. And I heard stories, of rape, of violence, of personal violation.  and I think...for mankind has corrupted his ways, and perhaps another flood is due. 

The peacefulness of the mountains contrast sharply with the fear, violence and chaos that man has created. The tranquility of this view contrasts with the uneasiness and I wonder, what has man done! And we are back to the story of Genesis, in the beginning...
