Is It Israeli Krav Maga?

One cannot help but notice other systems. If you are active on social media, view on-line videos you are bound to see now and then some other systems of self-defense. I try to avoid this as I have not seen anything new or interesting in a long time and what I do see, only causes me frustration.
I live in Israel. I stay on top of the news, I talk with police and military, I see confidential video clips, I speak with those who have experienced terrorist attacks, I study the nature of violence. I live in Israel; I live and breathe Israeli life. I understand Israel.
And then I see systems being taught abroad, by...all sorts of people with dubious connections to Israel, and it makes me wonder. I see "Knife disarms" something which does not exist in Israel. I see "aggressiveness" which people think is associated with Israeli Krav Maga, but they totally misunderstand how that is used. They borrow concepts and phrases which they do not understand. They do not understand how Krav Maga is actually applied, but they teach.
I am reminded of the analogy of the three blind men who touch an elephant, one thinks an elephant is a leg, another a trunk, another a tail, but none can see the full picture. I can see the full picture.
We are currently living through an active war, my entire life has been lived through wars and terrorist attacks. I have taught a generation of young soldiers, and I have taught all over the world. I understand the Krav Maga reality that I teach, and the Krav Maga fantasy game that I see being taught around the world by people that simply don't get it.
And such is life.
